Lawrence Martin

Lawrence Martin retired in 2015 with his wife The Villages, Florida after working for 39 years in pulmonary medicine.

Unlike many authors who stick to one genre, Lawrence likes to skip around, with eight different genres so far! These genres include a children’s picture book, Gravity Will Always Pull You Down…Unless You’re an Astronaut, and a novel for pre-teens, The Boy Who Dreamed Mount Everest. In 2016, The Boy Who Dreamed won and 2nd Place in the Florida Writers Association’s Royal Palm Literary Award competition, category of Middle-Grade Fiction. Both Gravity and The Boy Who Dreamed are now with Newhouse Creative Group.

Lawrence finds fiction to be a lot more challenging than non-fiction. He says that: "In fiction, you have to concern yourself with dialogue, speech tags, point of view, and other elements not found in non-fiction, but it's also a lot more fun to write."
